Gunung Mulu National Park is also known as Gunung Mulu World Heritage Area, known for its majestic, thrilling and adventurous spot where you get to play in the lapse of nature. This park is located on the island of Borneo in the state of Sarawak, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site that has most studied karst area in the world. Gunung Mulu National park with an area of 204( sq mi) is home to vast cave networks,  rocks, pinnacles, gorges, and cliffs. It has largest natural chamber or room in the world with Deer cave as largest single passage cave in the world. This park has the distinction of preserving the wide variety of flora and fauna including Pitcher, Palm, animals like Gibbons, Orangatun, rhinoceros, birds like Hornbills and thousands of Bats in its natural habitat preserving biodiversity. Rocks of old age having varying chemical composition and homeland to the variety of flora and fauna provide ample opportunity to both geologists as well as the scientist to carry out their practices in this scenic park.

LOCATION

Gunung Mulu National park is located on the Borneo island in the Miri Division Sarawak Malaysia having an extension up to 205( sq mi), with Mount Mulu 2376 m as highest peak.

PERFECT TIME TO VISIT.

Location of this park is within the vast deep jungles of Borneo which is not affected by monsoon and typhoon seasons, however, it is more difficult to travel in the dry month of July and september.for people to have hiking experience.

HOW TO GET IN

Tourist use to take flight from Miri to Mulu which takes around 30 minutes to visit and there is the daily flight of MASwings which operates twice a day. Mulu can also be reached by boat for the adventurous passenger.

MULU SERIES OF UNDERGROUND CAVES

MULU National park possesses some of the spectacular underground cave s over 300 km is explorable known as show cave Deer cave or GauPayau is one of them. Millions of Bts fly out of the cave in the night.  Mulu has a Long cave, Clearwater cave and first Lane cave in the list of the cave which is explorable.

 Pinnacle at Mount API. Pinnacle trails are on the side of Mount API is series of 45-meter limestone strikes which is easily visible on the side of vegetation and streak is best for the trekking purpose.

OTHER ATTRACTIONS

It includes Paku waterfall which takes around 2 hours to reach .besides this there is canopy skywalk which is just amazing longest canopy walk in the world.there is Kernga forest which can be explored too.

WHERE TO EAT

When you visit Mulu you can eat inside the HQ . However there are lots of hotels outside the park where you can eat .Cafemulu inside the park provides a variety of Asian and western food,  noodles,  tea, coffee and non-alcoholic drinks . outside the HQ there are other Sweet Water and Good luck cafe where you can eat.
