Redang Island is popularly known for its crystal clear waters with beautiful white sandy beaches, having numerous diving spot that inhabits the coral reefs. This island is situated in the South Chinese Sea, in the eastern side of Peninsular Malaysia, with protected marine waters park, also famous as Terengganu Marine Park. This island lies about 50 kilometers from the coastal city of Kuala Terengganu. Next to the main island Redang are many other smaller surrounding islands. You can also snorkel around the island; the coral reefs are in good health. Redang usually is not too crowded, though during local school holidays and public holidays it can get very busy on the island. Because Redang is part of a Marine Park, all visitors have to pay a marine park entrance fee upon arrival.

The best time to visit Redang island is between March to October, as during this time weather is tropical pleasant with a temperature between 25°C to 35 °C. Redang is affected by the northeast monsoon in winter, so most resorts are closed and ferry transport schedules are severely restricted between November and February.

How To Reach The Island

The Redang island is relatively easy to access among rest of the other Malaysian Island. To reach the island you have to take a flight to Kuala Terengganu, which is easily connected by rest of the Malaysian city. Once you reach the Kuala Terengganu by air r by road then you have to take the taxi or use public transport to reach the Tanjung Merang, which lies in the north of Kuala Terengganu. After that, you have take ferry or hire the private boat which hardly takes about 30 minutes to reach the island.
