Things to know before you go for Langkawi Cable Car

The Famous Langkawi Cable Car Station is situated in the Oriental Village of Langkawi.  a touristy place where one can find restaurants, shops, playgrounds for kiddos and a beautiful lake in the middle which make this place more beautiful. This sky cab provides you an aerial link of entire Oriental Village at the Teluk Burau to the top peak of Mountain Gunung Machinchang, where the Langkawi Sky Bridge is located. The total length is about 1.4 mi approx 2.2 km, with a journey time from the base to the top of around 15 minutes and officially opened in 2003.

After walking 100 meters from the entrance of Oriental Village, one can see the Cable Car Station which is just situated on the left.  At the height of 710 mt above the sea level, this Sky cab ride up to the Langkawi’s second highest mountain peak and it’s truly an experience not to be missed.During the 15 minutes ride on this Cable Car, you will pass over the thick carpet of virgin rainforest and waterfall. When the weather is clear, you can easily see Indonesia in the south-west and parts of Thailand in the north and at the top of a sky, the bridge offers a breathtaking view of Langkawi.

Before starting the journey you have to purchase the tickets and for that, you have to stay in the queue, so it’s better you can purchase the tickets online to avoid the rush in the queue after that it will only take about 10 minutes to get into the Gondola! The gondolas slow down when it arrived at the base station, it’s more than enough time for the passengers to step out slowly and even enter!

Gondola begins the ride from the base station and provide you the breathtaking 360-degree view of the entire valley and hike up to the Mount Machinchang of Langkawi Island! It will be a pleasant journey and it only took 10 minutes to reach the Middle Station. You can easily find the famous Seven Well Waterfall which clearly appears during the journey.

It was an Exciting ride for the total of 2.2km in 15 minutes!! Especially when the gondola approaching the Middle Station, the gondola was facing the Limestone Mountain! And it being pulled up almost Vertically with high speed to reach the station! It will be your unforgettable experience! When you walked to the 360 viewing platform on the left of the station after a small rest. Here you can find few ice cream and soft drink stall and enjoy the Dramatic View of Langkawi Island on the 2nd level with full Enjoyment! (710 meters above sea level) .

Besides that, it was also received the ‘Outstanding construction, architectural quality & technical proficiency of steel works’ from PRIX ACIER AWARDS 2005.
